Hello! I'm Allen

I run Eight Point Compass, a consulting practice focused on AI strategy and product leadership for growth-stage and PE-backed companies. I work with leadership teams to figure out where AI actually creates value (in their product, their operations, and across their portfolio) and then build the roadmap to get there.

I also work as a fractional Head of Product with earlier-stage startups, helping build product orgs, set direction, and ship. I tend to work best with companies in the Seed to Series B range that need senior product thinking but aren't ready for a full-time hire.

What do I bring to the table? I pick up on how businesses work very fast - that's the thing I keep hearing from the companies I work with. Give me a couple days and I'll have a working mental model of your operations, your industry context and the opportunities where technology can provide high ROI. And because I've lived on both the business and technical sides, I can translate between what the company needs and what the engineering team can actually build.
